Araku valley being one of the most popular, preferred and favourite destiny for tourism, the Forest Department has added a feather to its cap by developing Araku Pinery, erstwhile known as AnjodaSilkfarm. Spread over an extant of 27 acres, it is one of the few places that witnessing the tall tropical pine trees that were way back in 1975-76 planted by the Research and Development wing of Forest Department on trail basis in the name of Pinatum. Surrounding it are the panoramic view of hills, farm fields, rail track that elevates its Serene beauty further. Recognizing the potential of this serene landscape, the Andhra Forest Department and with the support of Central Ware Housing Corporation, under Corporate Social ponsibilityinitiated this project of Tourism on Ecological acceptability, economic viability, social desirability and aesthetic satisfactory bearingthe crux of Eco Tourism Initiative of creating a responsible travel to natural areas that conserve the environment, sustains the wellbeing of local communities and involves education and interpretation of the ecosystem.This project is developed at a cost of 1.06 Cr.
